Lado

CasteThis is the sixth white variety in the Ribeiro area; it is very scarce and in recent years it has been recuperated in the A Arnoia district.

UvaThe clusters are small, formed by compact, elliptical grapes and with enormous fertility. Its germination is medium-late and its ripening cycle and fertility are mid-level. This variety is highly sensitive to botrytis and oidium, and moderately sensitive to mildew.

ViñoThe grape easily reaches high alcohol contents (13 degrees) with a high level of acidity, owing to which its musts are similar to those of the albariño grape, with floral aromas that are more penetrating though less sophisticated. In the Ribeiro area, it is used with other native grapes of greater structure and volume, such as torrontés, to provide complexity and freshness to the whole. It produces balanced, fruity wines which are unusually delicate and with intense aromatic potential.
