This room gives visitors an insight into the historical process leading to the colonisation and expansion of the grapevine in Galicia. Little by little, vineyards created and altered the surrounding landscape, gave rise to settlements and structured agricultural land from the Middle Ages until the present day.
Transitional foyers : Vineyard soils in Galicia
Grapevines adapt easily to different land and climate types, producing quality wines even in nutrient-poor soils. Soils used for grapevines are formed from granite, shale, slate, alluvial deposits and oceanic crust rocks. These spaces exhibit edaphological cross-sections from different wine-growing areas.
